Jesus Christ Superstar opens in Chicago tonight as part of the 2017/2018 season at the Lyric Opera. Following its initial sell-out run in London, the production won Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards and Best Musical Revival at the Olivier Awards, and returned to Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in August 2017.
The Lyric Opera run plays until 20 May 2018. It is directed by Timothy Sheader with choreography by Drew McOnie and set and costume design by Tom Scutt,
